Hanukkah gifts

I wanted to spend a little time with the gifts I have gotten so far.

From my aunt and uncle I got a new coat, legwarmers, a red wallet, a snoopy DVD, Ponies and some moneys =P

Aiza also got me some gifts. 5 different nail art pens, 2 pocket size composition books, small pens, hand sanitizer, starburst candy and a summer dress =) I wasn't expecting so much!

From my boyfriend David I got a nice red warm blankey that looks like a cloak. I have been wearing it almost everyday because it's so awesome. I also got a new Wacom Bamboo tablet! It's bigger than my old one and it has so much good stuff that I can use it for. Yay!

But even on top of all that, the best part was being with my family for these past few days in Beaumont for Hanukkah =) Weeee

I can't wait for David to come back from visiting his family. That will be the best giftie =D hehe. Just a few more days... hehe.

Hanukkah and things

This week on Tuesday 20th was the first day of Hanukkah. There are 8 days in total. I wanted to spend time with my family in Beaumont, so I decided to go over on Wednesday night. On Wednesday after I went to talk to my Kabbalah teacher, I came home and left for Beaumont with My cat Serenity. But before I went to the house, I went to hang out with Aiza for a little bit. I got her a Hanukkah giftie. Serenity got to explore Aiza's room and eat her dinner. I spent about 2 hours there and then left because I didn't want to get to Beaumont to late. I left Aiza's place at around 7pm. I got to Beaumont at around 8ish. Serenity got to explore around the house and finally relax at home after a long drive. The whole time I was there, I walked around the house with the new blankey Dave got for me. It almost looks like a cloak... which is perfect! I love it so much... and it keeps me warm.

My family likes to watch a lot of movies. So here is a list of all the movies I watched while in Beaumont. 1. The Help
2. Midnight to Paris
3. Straw Dog
4. Children of the Corn
5. Rio

It's nice to watch movies you haven't seen. Children of the Corn is an old movie, but I have never watched it because when I was younger I was just to scared. But that movie was ok. All the other movies on the list were also good. I really liked watching Rio. It was really cute and musical. The dancing in the movies was awesome.

I spent a lot of time with my family, but when I wasn't doing anything with them, I would spent time drawing storyboards. I did that until yesterday Saturday, because my laptop finally would not work anymore. The charger would not charge the laptop because the connection was all messed up. But yesterday was really fun. We had a Hanukkah party and lots of people showed up. I drank a whole bottle of White Zinfandel. I did get drunk... but after it passed, I didn't drink anymore and just enjoyed the night, laughing at peoples funny acts and talking to people. I also got to meet the only Jewish neighbors we have in our little neighborhood in Beaumont. There was dancing in the upstairs playroom... which was so hilarious. Mostly the adults... but it just made the night fun. I went to bed at around 11pm.

Today there were more stories to tell. Someone decided it would be fun to draw on people's faces. The ones who got drunk at least. There were many pictures. I'm glad I was in my room, I don't want anyone drawing on me!

So now I'm at home... relaxing...

That's all! Happy Hanukkah... day 6!

Overview

I'm going to make this a bit short. I want to write... but then again... I really don't. But anyways, last week week class at the Kabbalah class... it was about bringing children into this world. Something that's been on my mind for months... ahh. I wonder what my class will be today?

This past week I been working on storyboard for the SFK - part of the Kabbalah Centre. Working on these storyboards has gotten me to try to be more artistic... and wanting to do more. But I also need to do more in other areas of my life.

I have also been working on a Jolly Rancher commercial with Carlos and a few other people. I did a little bit of the compositing and color correction. We finish the project on Friday 12/16. All we needed to do is upload it to the contest website.

(12/17-12/19) On Saturday I went hiking with David up in Glendale. I never even been to this new place. But it took a lot of my energy. We started at around 2pm and ended at 4:30 pm. We were both exhausted from this hike. We had food after the hike.  Went to Panera Bread and then headed back to his place to shower, and then go over to Ikea. Dave saw a few things he wants to get. But he won't be getting them until he gets back from his trip back home. I hope finally Dave get his apartment nice and organized. That would be nice to see. On Sunday, David went and got a haircut. I stayed behind at his apartment. I slept a little longer... got up, read and watched tv. After he got back from his haircut, we went out to eat. We went to a place... I can't remember the name, but I had an omelet with salmon and cream cheese. It was so yummy. Two of my most favorite things... Salmon and cream cheese. After that we just hung out at his place. Later on the day he dropped me off so he could go do some comedy with Cliff D. I was just at home drawing and rearranging my pony displays in my room.

That's it... haha.

Weekend update 12/10-12/11

I decided to help Carlos in a commercial for Jolly Ranchers new candy. We had to get equipment to film and so we did on Friday. On Saturday we had a group get together to get the filming started. We meet up at noon in North Hollywood. It was the house of Carlos cousin and the house was really close to me. I ended up taking my bike to the house because I didn't have my car to use. But since it was so close... I don't think I would have used it anyway. The whole group consisted of, Carlos, Marcelo (actor), Eric, Chris and me. We still had another person, a friend of Carlos coming in later in the day. She would be the actress in the commercial. We started setting up the living room and moving all the furniture around to make space for what we were going to film.  We started we the outside scenes. We had everything ready and were about to start recording on the P2 cards until we hit the record did we find a problem with the camera. It didn't want to record and would say there was an error. I looked through the settings over and over again and could not find anything. To get around this problem, Carlos and Marcelo left to buy a DV tape to film. While they were gone, I still kept looking at the setting to see if there was something I could do to fix the problem. After a few minutes of doing this, I managed to changed some settings and finally made the camera to start recording. I called Carlos to tell him not to buy the tape anymore but he didn't answer his phone. Then I tried calling Marcelo but he also didn't pick up his phone. It was a few minutes afterward that Marcelo called back. I told them not to buy it but they ended up buying it in case we continued to have any other problems to the P2 cards. It didn't take too long to film our scenes outside of the house so we quickly moved in to film the shots inside of the house. These shots took a bit longer because we had to fix the lights and make sure everything was good. At about 3:30 pm Carlos ordered pizza for everyone. We kept working on filming until the pizza came so then we took a break. We took a nice long break and just talked and planned for what we were going to do next. At around 5pm we had Carlos friend finally get there. We were still in the process of getting done with all the scenes without her, but we were near. We didn't finish until about 7pm. David called me to see if we were still going to go to Ariel's and Joe's party. He was in orange county... a little far... but he managed to get to me within an hour. He came and got me and we went over to the party. We had some food, apple cider and watched xmas movies. I also got a few gifts from Ariel... which I wasn't expecting at all. After that we just came over to Dave's place to sleep.

On Sunday, Dave had to go into work for a few hours to work on something. He dropped me home and he would get me later to go eat. When he did finish at work, he got me and we went out to eat pupusas. After that we went to his place and just relaxed. We watched tv and I eventually fell asleep while watching fox 11 Sunday night shows.  I did ended up waking up because Carlos called me asking about the footage from Saturday. We eventually went to sleep at about 11pm but I couldn't fall asleep. I stayed awake until about 1am. I don't remember falling sleep... but glad I did.

Howl at the Moon and the weekend 12/2-12/4

Last Friday (12/2/11) I hosted a party at Howl at the moon because I had won a party in October so finally it was time to use my party to have friends come and get together. It was a last minute notice because the person who I sent the info about what date I was going to host this party never contacted me. So this past week on Tuesday I was notified about the reminder for my party on Friday December 2nd. I scrambled trying to get the work out to some of my friends. 10 people came out and that includes me. I'm actually happy I was able to get some of my friends out. I was expecting 2-3 people. Glad that it turned out well and it was all fun too. All who came out were, Greg, Marcelo, Renee, Ryan, Bailee, Dana, Cliff, David M. and of course my boy Dave and me. Of course I had to be there... haha. Lots of talking, picture taking, drinking and fun music. It all started at 6pm and we didn't leave until 11:45pm. But this time all but Greg and Dana had left. After we got out of Howl at the Moon, we all went to eat at in-n-out burgers. We hung around at the in-n-out burgers until about 1am. Then Dave and I went to his place to sleep.

12/3/11. The next day we ended up sleeping for many hours. We both thought it would be around 8 or 9am. It turned out to be 11am. We hung out at Dave's place for a bit until we had to go to my place so I could get dressed for his work holiday party at the Luxe Hotel Sunset at 6pm. When we get to my place, I try to get ready quickly... but because what I had planned on wearing wasn't fit for the occasion... I had decide on something else to wear for the night it took a little bit longer. But finally I was ready... and we were off. There was a bit of traffic on our way to the hotel that David thought we would get there late and won't have time for cocktails and talking to people. The traffic kept moving quickly and we got to the hotel on time. There was some food being passed around by the people who work at the hotel. My favorite was the little salmon cone. It was so yummy. I also liked the chicken pizza.

Finally it was time to get dinner out. We sat for a little and waited for the food to come out. 1st was the salad, then dinner food, which was steak, fish, veggies, sweat potato and finally desert which was just a lot of yummy things. Haha. At the end of the whole meal I got coffee. After that there was music, dancing and casino games where people could play. Dave went and played some game... I don't even know what the hell it's called. That's how much I know about casino games. All I know is, there were cards, game chips... and PEOPLE. Haha. It was fun watching... but I still had NO IDEA what the heck was going on. We left at around midnight. We got home to Dave's place and went to sleep.

12/4/11 - We ended up waking up late... again! Haha. I'm tired of typing... so I'll make this last bit as short as possible. We went out and got breakfast. Went home to relax. Dave played Baulder's Gate for a little bit. We went out for a late night hike at around 4pm. After hike, more relaxing for me since Dave had to write some work stuff. We needed dinner so we ordered Chinese food and watched Neverland on Syfy. Then after a little bit... Dave packed stuff for his work trip. After that, we went to sleepy sleep.

To be continued... haha.

Wallenda Screening + Winds

Last week on Wednesday I went to the Wallenda screening Gnomon In Hollywood.  It was pretty awesome to finally see it up and complete. I went with David so he could see what the heck I was working in on this whole time at the internship. After the film, there was a party over at The Cat & Fiddle. It had been a really windy day it was turning out to be also for the night part. David and I met up with Marcelo, David M. and some other people I know from school. We had a couple of drinks and talked a bit. At about 10pm or so we left and headed over to Dave's place for the night. It was a crazy ride home with all the wind. The trees moved wildly and leaves went all over the place. We neared Dave's place in Glendale and going down a Brand street (I think) we thought it just started to rain because there was a tons of water flying at us. But it turned out it was water from the sprinklers about two blocks away from us. Two blocks?? Really? this was really strong wind. We got to Dave's place, (finally) but Dave wanted to go out and explore this scene. So we did and I brought along my camera to film our adventure. Here is a video if you wish to watch our adventure. 11/30/11.

My brother and wife in town - Week 3

11/21/11 - A day for relaxing... I guess. But I did have a job interview. I think it went well. The supervisor was nice. So... I just have to wait and see if they call me. I went over to my aunts work place. Hung out there for a little bit. Had lunch and then went home. I also went to my Kabbalah class at night... I think that's about it.

11/22/11 - I don't remember. Haha.

11/23/11 - Went out to the mall to get my boots I been wanting to buy. I did pay a deposit. So in case I didn't like them, or some other problem... I can get a full refund. When I got to the store, I tried on the boots and they were a perfect fit! I was so happy. I went home and Jasmine saw my boots and started to think maybe she wants a pair. At 12pm  we left so we could get lunch with my aunt and uncle. We had to take Trinity with us because after lunch, my aunt and uncle were going to take my cousin with them. I looked in the garage for my cat carrier... and blue plastic one... and I found it. I cleaned it up and made it comfy for the Trinity. My cousin Al put her in the cat carrier and we were set to go. On the way over to the restaurant, (a pupuseria) Trinity kept crying and whining. But once we got to the restaurant we waited 10-15 for my aunt and uncle to arrive. Once they arrived they asked the people in the restaurant if we could bring trinity inside while we eat. They said it's all good, she can come it. She sat in the cat carrier next to my cousin. I had plantanos, 2 cheese pupusas and a horchata. It was good to spend time with my family. After we had lunch, my cousin and I waited outside until my aunt and uncle paid for the meal. We were checking on Trinity to see how she was doing and then noticed she had pee in the cat carrier. My cousin said "cochina," which translates to dirty girl, but in this case, dirty cat girl. Haha. We both cleaned out the mess. Finally it was time to depart and Trinity and my cousin left with my aunt and uncle. I asked my brother if he could take me to Blick art store so I could get some art supplies. I needed more turpenoid for the oils. This is my favorite place to get supplies from. I always go to many different stores but I usually don't buy from them. I just go check out the prices. When it's time to buy, it's off to Blick's. The location we ended going to was the one in Los Angeles down Beverly Blvd. It's near the Beverly Center. I remember the days when it used to be called "The Art Store." My brother, Jasmine and I looked around for 15 minutes just seeing what they had. I got my odorless turpenoid, a glass container and a painting knife. I got all those 3 items for 12 dollars with my 40% off coupon and 10% off preferred customer card. My brother wanted to go home, but Jasmine made his got to the Glendale Galleria to check out the boots she might want to get. We were at the Galleria and Jasmine in the end didn't get the boots. We just walked around looking at the stores. I did end up getting some red tights I been wanting to get for a while now.  After that we just went home. Tomorrow my brother, wife and their dogs are going back home to Pennsylvania. I went out to watch David's comedy show. It's the night before Thanksgiving and we both thought no one would show up. We were wrong. It filled up with people who wanted to see comedy! It was a great show! =)

11/24/11 - It's Thanksgiving, Turkey day! I dropped my brother, wife and dogs off at the airport at about 10 am. I said bye to them, for the time being. They will be back in California in about 6 months. So yay! After that, I came home and got ready so David could come get me so we could get our Turkey meal and go to Nicole's place and dine. We had a nice meal and hung out at Nicole's place for a bit. After we left... we were actually hungry. We had a small afternoon meal so we ended up going to some place in Sherman Oaks to get food. I don't remember exactly what it was, but we shared the entree plate and got an appetizer. The food was really yummy and perfect.

11/25/11 -  Dave has a show tonight at a Sci-fi convention. He got in for free since he was participating. I didn't go because Dave had a feeling it was going to be horrible. It ended up being horrible. Glad I didn't go and made him waste money on a lame convention. Haha.

11/26/11 - 11/27/11 - I don't remember what the heck we did this weekend... haha.

My brother and wife in town - Week 2

11/14/11 -  I started my new Kabbalah class on this day. Yay! Spent the day at home doing the usual things. Job searching, tv, some time spent with my cousin, brother and his wife. That's all. The lights around the Beverly Center were all off... so they had people directing traffic. Haha... uh... that's all I really remember.

11/15/11 - We went to Sea World! Yay. My cousin decided not to go with us because he had to study for a test on Thursday. So it was just my brother, his wife Jasmine and me. We left at about 8:30 am. My brother was planning to go down the 101 S to get to the 5 S. But I suggested he go down the 134 E and then hit the 5 S that way. It turned out to be the faster road. Glad I said something otherwise we would have been stuck in L.A. forever.  It would have taken us longer to reach our destination because it's about a two hour drive to San Diego. Along the way down to San Diego, David calls me asking me about his jacket. He said he could not find it and the last place I could remember him having it was when he went to Chicago back in October. In the end he did figure out where it was. He had left it at the board games place in Sun Valley. We reached Sea World at around 11:30pm. The park closed at 5pm, so we still had plenty of time. We went into the park and my brother and Jasmine went and got something to eat. They got coffee and a muffin from some cafe. After that, we went to where the sea lions were and Jasmine feed them. The sea lions were so loud!  They keep screaming, give me food! They all wanted food and also the birds that hang around trying to take their food. After that we went to watch a show with sea lions and stuff. It was pretty cool, with many funnies, dancing animals and people. We also watched the Shamu show later on in the day. We went exploring through the shark place and went to look at dolphins and other fishies. We went on the water raft ride. There was no line so we just went on. It was still nice and sunny so if we did end up getting wet, we could dry off with the sun. I had two sweaters on, so I took my inner sweater off and just kept the second one on while I hid the 1st sweater under my 2nd sweater.  I also hid my purse under my sweater so it would not get wet while on the ride. I put my hoodie on just so I won't feel the water go down my neck. My trick worked and none of my stuff under my sweater got wet, just the outer sweater got wet. When we got off the ride I replaced my wet sweater with my dry one and once again I was nice and warm from the top. It was starting to get a little chili, but I just hoped my sweater would dry off eventually. We went on the sky tower where we ended up getting a picture of all three of us. We also went on the bayside skyride. Both were pretty cool with amazing views. Towards the end of the day we ended up getting lunch. It was about 3:45 when we did. I got a veggie burger, fries and a chocolate pudding. There were so many seagulls around us, at a table near us, they almost took a kids food of his plate. The last thing we did at Sea World was ride Journey to Atlantis. We got a little wet, but not too much. After that we left and got all cozy inside my car. I also got David one of those penny pressed coins with a turtle design on it. We needed to get to weho to go watch Dave's show at 9:30pm. I feel asleep on the ride back. I think it was about 45 minutes. David called me to see how far we were at 7pm but from what I saw on the side info boards on the freeway, we were 30 mins away. But that proved to be wrong because we ended up getting to downtown 10 minutes later. We reached weho by 8:30pm. He had made in time to see Dave's show. So finally my brother Albert and his wife Jasmine got to meet Dave. =) Now my whole family knows my boyfriend. Yay! Now I have to meet his family... when will that be? It was quite an eventful night. There was a comedy show before the one Dave was performing in, but when it finished most of the people left. It looked to me it was just the comedians and my family. Jasmine drank a bit so she was laughing at a lot of things. She made it very fun and people liked it. We got home really late. I stayed up about an extra hour later. But then I went to sleep... it has been a long day.

11/16/11 - Wednesday was just relax day. We were all still tired from the day before.

11/17/11 - On this day I went mini golfing with my brother and Jasmine at Castle Park in Sherman Oaks area. This was my second time ever to go mini golfing. I came in last in both round that we all played. I didn't care much, I thought it was just fun! We went and got lunch at wienerschnitzel and I got a pastrami sandwich. After the game we went home and relaxed. Later on the day I had to go to a CTN animation expo volunteer meeting for the weekend event. Marcelo came to pick me up and we left. We went to Aaron Brothers to look at art stuff and then to Michael's in the Burbank area. We hung around there for a bit. Once it was 5:30 we decided to head over to the hotel and just wait around. When we got to the Marriott, Marcelo was trying to park and he hit the car behind us. At first I thought it was the curb, but nope it was the car and to make it worse there was a cop on a motorcycle right at that exact moment so he saw. He inspected the car and saw damage, but it was too low to be something Marcelo had done with his car. He still had to leave his contact info for the other car owner to see. (Marcelo never heard back from that person, so I guess they already had that damage on their car.) After all the info was done, the cop helped and stopped traffic so we could get another parking spot. We parked around the corner and then went inside the Marriott. Inside at the meeting they just told us about the things we were doing, and who we are to report to during our shifts. Aside from that it was all boring stuff and once it was 8pm, Marcelo and I left. He dropped me off and that was it for the night.

11/18/11 - CTN animation expo day. I wanted to go in early so I could explore around before I started my shift volunteering. I walked around the exhibit hall before anyone else could. I looked at all the cool art and demos. I even talked to one of the 5 artist that worked on the 3D stuff on Beauty and the Beast. That just made my day. I went and got lunch and also saw a screening of student work from several schools. After that I went and started my shift. I just stood outside a door and made sure no one walks in that way. No one who's not an exhibitor that is. People could exit mostly. It was pretty tiresome. But I got through the night and went home. I was totally exited to be going to Knott's Berry Farm on Saturday with my family and boyfriend. Dave came to pick me up after board games. It turned out to be almost midnight... which I thought was annoying at heck. We would just go to his place and sleep and not do anything else. Blah.

11/19/11 - Knott's Berry Farm day! Yay! David and I left at about 9:15am. We actually got there really early. Even before my brother, cousin and wife. David needed food so we went and got some food from a sandwich place. I got a egg and cheese panini. It was so good. The best egg I have ever tasted from a food place. After we got our food we went to Knott's and met up with my family. The first ride we went on was Windseeker. That was my second time on that ride. The first one was during Knott's Halloween Haunt. After that we went on Jaguar since it was right next door. The next was La Revolution. My brother doesn't like rides that spin. Well this one did spin a lot, but heck, it was so much fun. David really loved this ride =) I would say it's one of my favorites at Knott's. After that we got on the Dragon Swing, the one where you sit in a boat and it goes side to side. Then came Waveswinger. My brother refused to get on this one. We wanted to watch a show, that started at about 12:30pm. But before we the show we got on Xcelerator. I was a bit worried for David because I don't know how much his heart could handle. Besides Disneyland and California Adventure Park, I have never been to a theme park with him with rides that were a bit extreme. But he was fine. So it was all good. After the ride we went to watch the show at the Calico Saloon in the Ghost Town area. It started late, but it was nice to relax for a bit. After the show... hmm... I'm not quite sure what we went to do. Haha. We had lunch at one point and went to Johnny Rockets where I got really upset over my favorite dish. David and I ordered chili cheese fries the usual. But when we got our order I was in total shock. Instead of using shredded cheese they had used nacho cheese. I was so disappointed that I wanted to cry. I asked the waiter why they had done that and he said something about they did not have the equipment for it anymore and that the cheese doesn't melt nicely over the chili. What? That's dumb. The cheese melts when it's on something warm... you just let it melt on it own, you don't need melted cheese dip on it. The cheese tasted so nasty... I only ate the fries with the chili on them. David said to write them about this problem to them. I was in agreement. The rides we go on are as follows, not sure in the order: Calico Mine Ride, Rip Tide, The Pony Express, Silver Bullet, Sierra Sidewinder and Ghost Rider. All the rides were fun and I really like the Sidewinder because it spins as you go through the track. FUN! We also saw two other shows, the stunt show and the mystery lodge. Both were fun and cool. At the end of the night it started to sprinkle a little bit. My family didn't believe me at fisrt and said some probably had spit on me. But then they believe because they felt the sprinkles for themselves. Before we left the park we went into stores looking for things to buy. I bought a woodstock pin / plush and a snoopy gel cling. David and I decided to get food at TGI Friday's. So we said bye to my family and went off to eat. We ate, then Dave took me home.

11/19/11 - Last day for the CTN animation expo. I volunteered in the morning for 4 hours then I was done. It was also raining. I had David pick me up. I wanted to to the mall to get my boots I had special ordered, but because it was raining the mall was packed. So we just left and went to David's place. I think we played Baulder's Gate for a bit... but I feel asleep at one point. Haha. We went to some Seafood Place to eat that night and after that Dave dropped me home. When I got home The Walking Dead was already 30 minutes into it. I kept watching until the end. I always forget that they show a repeat at 11pm but I didn't tell David that because he said he wanted to go shower. So I just let him shower and he can watch it another day, most likely next Sunday.

That's all I can remember... more on the next blog!

My brother and wife in town - Week 1

So about 2-3 weeks ago I went to pick up my brother and his wife. Yay. They were coming out to visit on their vacation and they also brought their two dogs, Oddie and Cuddles. 11/7/11. One of the first things we went to do was eat pupusas! Yum. I can eat pupusas anytime, any day of the week. We also all go horchata. Even more yummers! For the rest of the day it was just spent relaxing. So Lobo met Oddie and Cuddles... and it was a mess. Lobo wanted to play but Oddie did not. He would just keep barking, barking and running all over in the back yard. It was chaos. But the week before my parents had me look into Lobo getting neutered... so I did. And I ended up getting a call on Monday for it but the lady we very rude and hung up on me. I did managed to get an appointment for the next morning.

11/8/11. The next day my mom and I took Lobo to get neutered. It took a while to even get him in the door. Paperwork and people was the problem. But finally he went in and we left. It was also extremely cold that morning and it was hard to even hold a pen. Brrr. After I got home my mom and dad left for work. I was thinking about getting home and sleeping some more. That plan failed. I ended up going to the Navy base in Oxnard with my brother and his wife. I never been to the base... so I thought it be cool to go. I wasn't too worried about Lobo, he would be out by 12:30-1pm. It was 9am at that time. They vet place would call and tell us to pick him up later on. So I went with them and went inside the base. I was surprised to see it was little small mini town. I wanted to get a new shirt because I had left home with a big pajama shirt and it was dirty. So I ended up getting a shirt that cost 7 dollars. I changed into it quickly and felt so much better about my appearance. Haha. Jasmine had to get some new name tags for her uniform with out last name of Guardado on it. I told her "You better not misspell it." She laughed. We waited about until noon to get them but before that we went to eat chicken teriyaki bowls from Jack in the Box. They were extremely good tasting. I even got an egg nog shake... which I have been dying to get! More just the egg nog taste... but finally. It's the season for egg nog and I will get as much as I can! Haha. After we ate we went back to pick up Jasmine's name tags. After that we left and went to the Camarillo outlets because Jasmine needed some shoes. After going into one store I got the call to go pick up Lobo. So we left and went to pick him up. We got the the location in about 25 minutes. We were near by so it was good. I went to get Lobo and he still had some energy. But in the car he just plopped down on Jasmine's lap. Lobo was pretty calm all day.

11/9/11. On this day we went out to Beaumont to go get my Cousin Al. We went to the outside mall area to check out stores. It was pretty windy but I was all bundled up with warmies. We all got hungry and went and got food. But before we went to get food, my brother and cousin got haircuts. Jasmine made them both get haircuts because their hair were just too long. After that we got lunch. I got a turkey sandwich from Quizno's. We hung around at the house and watched a show called Bully Beat down and The Walking Dead Season 1 DVD. Jasmine and I drank some sake. I only had a little bit, and a beer but Jasmine had like half the bottle of the sake and some mixed drink. She was gone at the end of the night.

11/10/11. We left Beaumont and came back to North Hollywood. It was afternoon time when we got home and we relaxed for a bit. We ended up going to the Glendale Galleria all except my cousin he wanted to stay at home and be on his phone. We check a lot of stores and walked for a bit. I saw a pair of boots that I wanted to try on, but at the end I decided not to. We went home.

11/11/11. Tonight we ended up hanging out with one of my brother's friend. We went out to dinner to BJ's. I had some white wine with my dinner pasta. It was really yummy and I even finished it all.

11/12/11-11/13/11. Just spent the weekend with Dave. He had a comedy show Sunday at 5pm so I went to that. But before that we just hung out at my place and he played Baulder's Gate. I ended up falling asleep. But his comedy show went great. People showed up to drink and laugh. All good. Then we just came back to his place and watched rerun episodes of The Walking Dead. Good night.

I will write another blog for the week after all this happened. Haha.

Weekend Update 11/5-11/6

So this past weekend I went to Comikaze! It's a new convention, which was fun and very cheap to get into. I went with one of my best friends, Velice. We bought our tickets online but when we go there, the will call line was super long. We were about to head to the end of the line, but there was some person trying to direct people into  where they are supposed to go. When this was happening I just went into the line and just stood there. I was sneaky. I cut in line, haha. No one was really paying attention, so why not?

Once we got our wristbands, we were ready to go in and have some fun! Lots of cosplayer, people and stores! Ahhh, it seems overwhelming to see, but once you go through it, it's not so bad. It's fun checking out all the mechandise from different stores. I checked out a few anime things. But I was more paying attention to Doctor Who and anything My Little Pony. I only bought some Doctor Who pins, some other random pins, and stickers or cats and Doctor Who ones. I didn't really have money to spend, so I actually asked my mom for some extra money. Not much just 30 dollars and it was just enough. There wasn't anything big I would of wanted, nothing stood out. So yay! But I do want more My Little Pony shirts... hehe especially ones with Pinkie Pie... I was looking around for that... but not a thing. Haha.

Okay, so... we also did check out some panels. Four of them. The first one was on the Batman, the second was on Fact of Faked paranormal files, the third one was Battlestar Galactica past and now, and the last one was the Doctor Who panel. All were an hour long... lots of sitting was required! haha. But we started to get hungry along the end of the second panel. We headed to the food area and got something to eat. We only got fries since the price to food was crazy high. 9 dollars for just a burger. Fries were only 3 dollars. So fries it was! We sat and just watched people go by with costumes and just looking at stuff. It's interesting just seeing people live their lives.

We also saw a lot of tv show characters signing autographs. Too many to name... so I'll leave at that. So... that was all for Comikaze. I said by to Velice and hope to hang out soon. I went home had dinner and then went over to a place were David was playing board games. Didn't stay for too long, but I did play 1 game of apples to apples. The game is fun, but I don't like the fact there is no end point to the game. You just get cards with a description. That part seems really lame.

Afterwards we just went to Dave's place where I spent the night. Sunday was just really relaxing. It was a rainy day, so who want to go out and get wet, right? We did go out to get breakfast then came back to his place. He played some Baldur's Gate and I just watched. Later that night we went out to get some dinner and then watched Puss in Boots. I really like the money. It was fun, cute and entertaining. Haha. I love cats... so to see a cat character come to life and do something... it pretty awesome. So that's all for the weekend. I went home that night, because I had to go pick up my brother, his wife Jasmine and their dogs from the airport the next day. I'll talk about this later.

Monday night... halloween

Oh yeah, there is something else I forgot to mention. David and I went to the Dia de Los Muertos festival last month. I think it was on Saturday the 12th. I'm guessing because it's not noted on my calendar. It took place in the Hollywood Forever cemetery. I have never been here so it was pretty cool to visit the place. But I kinda want to see the place without the billions of people who attended.

So my experience at this festival... I felt pretty sad walking amongst the dead. Seeing pictures and memorials. I wasn't sure if I could take it. I wanted to shed some tears just walking through. You don't really think about these things when you are living life. You are happy, having fun, living life day by day. Dia de los Muertos festival brings you down to the realities in life and what will happens to everyone when they die. But aside from that... we looked at a lot of merchandise. I had a pupusa, horchata and plantain. Dave just had some hotdog thing, haha. After this was done, we went to Sinister Pointe and Old Town Haunt that night.

OKAY, so now for the Halloween events! So on Halloween Dave and I went to do some yard haunts around the area. First we went to two places around in Burbank. Don't know where exactly they are or the name of the haunt, but the first one we went into was based on creepy alien virus of some sort on a space station. It was really cool to see what people can do with their time. The design of the haunt was cool, and they had an alien bar which looked awesome to hang out at. The second one we went to, was like creepy, butchery and not sure what the heck it was. But it was really awesome. It was awesome because of the decorations, and design of the whole place. They used the space well and the monsters... played their parts well. I would have to say this haunt is one of the best I have seen and it was just just the two of us and no other group in front or behind. It almost felt as if it was never going to end.

The next stop was Woodland hills, where Boney Island resides. I only remember this... because the whole theme of this place was boney, haha. It was pretty amazing what the owners of this place made. Skeletons everywhere, with audio, and a water show with music. There was also singing bushes and talking spiders with funny phrases. Oh yeah, we also saw the ghost busters car with all the flashing lights. It was pretty awesome. I tried to take a pic but it was hard to take a picture of the bright lights flashing. So instead I took a short video to capture the moment.

We went looking for another haunt somewhere... don't remember where, but it turned out it was just a small house decorations. David wasn't sure which houses were the ones with haunts in them. But we did end up at one with a forest of mirrors. This one was pretty awesome. There were mirrors all over the place making you think it was someone else, but then you realize right away it's not, and it's just YOU. Also, they ways the had positioned the mirrors made it looked like the people were behind us, but in fact they were coming in from the side of place. Towards the end there was a small girl who came out screaming... and apologized for it. I thought "You don't have to apologize."

We were hungry after all this... so we went to the Blue Dog Beer Tavern. For being Halloween, it was the perfect spot to chill. It was nice and empty and we could have a meal at peace. We had a burger with fries, and garlic cheesy bread. Let's not forget the beer of course! I got some wheat beer, which was yummy.

So that's it for Halloweeny things. Until next year! O_O

Halloween Haunts and things

It's the end of October... weeee. That means it's Halloween... oooooh, yeah. A lot of Haunts were done this month by Dave and me. Hmm let me think, we went to Knott's Halloween Haunt, The Dark Harbor (at Queen Mary), Sinister Pointe Haunt, Old Town Pasadena Haunt, and Ghost Ship. Just being able to do haunts is really fun. Especially when you have others to go with you.

We went to Knott's Berry Farm before it was even October. They open their Haunt the last weekend of September. We went with Nicole, Ariel and Joe. So the place was pretty much empty that we were able to do all 13 mazes and even watched a magic show. I think it took us about 2-3 hours to do everything. The mazes were fun, and cool. I always fun seeing what kind of decor they have included. Towards the end of the night, Joe and Ariel have to leave because Joe had to get up early for work. 3 remained. Ooooh. One of the final thing we did during the night was ride Windseeker. This is the newest ride at Knott's. I had seen it advertised during a news cast and I thought it looked awesome. So finally I had the chance that night to ride it. At first it was just an exciting emotion, but at the ride started to go up, I started to get scared. Haha. It went up to high that the night view was amazing.

For the Queen Mary it was just Dave and me. Ariel wanted to go, but couldn't because they had to take their pet to the vet. As we entered, the fun began. We were put right into a scare zone with fog and were all the monsters come out. Totally unexpected. The mazes at The Queen Mary were pretty cool. It was interesting going inside the boat itself. A lot of long dark hallways were fun to go through. But my favorite ones of the night were "The Cage" and "The Village." "The Cage" was just amazing because I have never bee through a maze with fog everywhere. It was almost confusing because you were not sure where to go. All the mirrors on the walls were pretty creepy since you did not expect it. But the best scary part was the hands on the wall. I didn't want to touch them. In "The Village," they set everything up really well. The lighting was perfect and you didn't know where the monsters would be coming out. So I really thought this was a creepy maze. One of the statues in the maze terrified me... and I kept thinking in my head, "please don't move, please don't move." And it didn't move, thank goodness for that. Haha.
Sinister Pointe was awesome. Dave and I went with Nicole and Richard. We all got a scream pass... I think that's what it's was called. We get in the fast past type of thing, and can go in multiple times. We went in 3 times. As we went in the first time, we had our pictures taken twice. I like how they sent you in with just your group. No conga line type of deal. Just the four of us which is how it should be. We had to choose which directions to go. We went through one of the door and ended up in a kitchen area where there were two sinks. We had to press two buttons at the bottom of the garbage disposal to get though this area. Dave and Richard were the ones to do this part. We go through to the next area. This girl with a doll kept following me which was scary... eek. We came upon an area when you end up getting sprayed by a toilet... not a clean toilet but one covered with filth... you can image this nasty, nasty toilet... eww. Nicole and Richard were the first ones to get sprayed with nastyness. Good thing it wasn't real, but it kind of gets to you mentally. Haha. There was also a room where the wall keep moving side to side. This was amazing. Never seen anything like it. We went out and got food out of the food trucks outside the maze. Nicole and I decided to get food from the garlic truck. She got the garlic sliders and I got the garlic grilled cheese. We shared half of what we each got, so we were able to try both meals... I say both were really good... but I still can't decide which one was my favorite. After we ate, we went back in the maze and check out the other ways we could of gone through. We took another pictures as we entered the begging of the maze. This one we ended up getting because it was a picture with all four of us, sitting behind the couch with just our head coming out from the top. Best pic of the night! So anyways, we went in through the doors opposite of the ones we first went through. This time Nicole and I had to get the door to open into our next room. We had to put 4 metal rods into wall sockets. Eeek. We did manage to open it, after a few seconds or so... I think. We had more choices to make when we went through sets of doors. We got stuck in a room with no doors. We were confused... but finally we figured it out when it was revealed that with how they had set the doors, we weren't able to see a hidden door, the door to our escape. So after this second time out, we went out to get more food. We went to the bakery truck and got cupcakes. Dave and I got a red velvet cupcake with hot chocolate. At this point I still had not tried a good red velvet item. But this cupcake was really good. It would have been perfect if it was warm, but for the moment it was still good. After finishing, we went in for the last and final time. We were waiting in line to go in, and one of the monsters came up to us and was trying to scare us with his laugh. But he got something unexpected back. David started laughing back very scary, creepy like. It was so loud that the monster dude started to back away slowly and hiding behind other people. This was so hilarious and definitely memorable. I won't be forgetting this anytime soon. We actually decided to head over to Old Town Haunt in Pasadena. We still had a lot of time left that night so it fit perfect to go. We had to wait a little until the actors/monsters came back from their break... (I like calling them monsters... haha.) I didn't like that all the actors were on the alley way where we were standing and waiting. We could see everyone just hanging out, looking at their phones, and smoking. Totally no cool. The year before this haunt was awesome. This year is was okay/good and I say this only because they sent up in a group of 8 people. During last year, it was 4 people, and it felt more personalized. But it was still a good haunt.

The Ghost ship was the last we did,  and it had the worst of reviews. We went with Nicole, Lori, and Richard. So because people were saying this event sucks, Dave had no other choice but to go as he says: "Ruth Style." He filled up a water bottle with vodka. Haha.  The Ghost Ship wasn't so bad... when you have alcohol in your system. Dave and  I were the ones who drank the most. I was laughing at a lot of things... even if they were not funny... but some things were funny. I was pretty much all happy. But I drank too much... lol. Boo. Oh well... it was still fun.

Aside from haunts... yesterday we went pumpkin carving at one of Dave's coworkers place. I hadn't carved a pumpkin in a long time. The last I remember was in 2004. Then after that, hmmm, when I was a kid. Very long time... haha. I carved plain faces on the pumpkins. I really didn't know what else to do and I didn't want to make something difficult since I hadn't done it in a while. Maybe next year I can try a carving a cat. Dave made a Christmas pumpkin and lights were poking out of the pumpkin through holes. It was really cool, all glowy and fun. All the pumpkins everyone were awesome. There was even a Steve Jobs one. We didn't do any haunts this night because we just hung out with Dave's coworkers. But it was fun anyways just hanging out and enjoying some pumpkin pie, wine and siting by the warm fire.

There are still a few things left over for tonight. David and I will be checking out yard haunts in the area of Burbank and Studio city. We'll see if we can do a few... but anything we do end up doing should be many funs! So I'll be writing about that later on.

Another day... update?

I wish I had more to say... but these days... I still don't do much. I sit at home, look online for a jobs, read my books, eat, sleep... not much that's really interesting or different. Everything is boring... and it repeats over and over.

Blah, blah.

The end... for today.

Weekend Update 9/1-9/2

9Good news! The house in El Salvador has finally been sold! I'm glad it's finally been sold. Burglars had broken into our house a few times and that was just getting annoying. They knew people were not living there all the time, so they took advantage of it. El Salvador has also just become to dangerous to be owning property. The last time my parents went, which was just about a month ago, they decided to stay in a hotel rather than our house. It's just not safe for them/us anymore.

Yesterday I went to a party.  It was a party from people my aunt and uncle know. I been wanting to have some white wine, specifically white zinfandel, so I went and bought a bottle before going to meet up with my aunt. There was probably about 30 or more people at the party. I ended up having 3 glasses of the wine I brought over with me. I hadn't eaten much, so it got to me. Haha. I was all giggly and I think almost drunk. I fell asleep for a little bit. But after I got some food in me, it kind of all passed. I didn't feel buzzed at all. I still waited a little bit before I decided to go home and rest for the night.

So aside from that... I went hiking today with a few friends. Most of the people who said were going, didn't even show up. I'm talking about facebook invites. People always say, YES to going and don't show up. LA people are so flakey. When I say I'm going to do something, I do it. If I can't do it then I won't say I will. But anyways, it's a funny story. At first Marcelo and I (I hate this, I rather say me, lol) went to the first met up location before meeting up at Chantry flats, Fresh and Easy. We got there at 9am and no one was there. My friend Diego said he be there at 8:45pm to 9am. But he wasn't so we just left and went to the hiking spot. Marcelo parked his car and we waited like 15 minutes just to make sure we didn't miss Diego coming by. Well he didn't even show so we just decided to go on the hike and enjoy it. Marcelo was pretty amazed at the location of this hike. He had to keep stopping and look at the view. I was more worried about a ton of kids catching up to us and having to cross across the water with them around. But as we arrived at the end location at the waterfall, we met up with Diego and his friend Daniel. I didn't even notice he was approaching because I was looking down on the ground. I was so glad we actually bumped into him. He must of arrived a little bit before we did. So in total it was just the 4 of us who showed up for the hike. Weeeeee. After the hike, we went out separate ways. Marcelo and I went to the Glendale Galleria and got some lunch. Hung out for a bit then decided it be best to go home and rest. We were both exhausted from the hike.

Also, my brother already said he was going to come out and visit and November, so I just found out he's coming out on November 7th =) Yay! I get to see him, his wife and their dogs, Odie and Coodles =) haha. It will be good.

Ok... I think that's all I will say this time. I'm pretty sleepy.

Sadness

It's always sad taking someone to the airport. Even if it's just for a few days. I kind of hate seeing David leave... but he's going to see family and spend some time with them. It didn't hit me until yesterday that I actually have to take him and see him off. Then the thoughts came rolling back... back to when he first left for Connecticut. Sadness. *sighs* Will I ever get over these feelings? It's frustrating to always have to feel this way. A part of me thinks I won't ever see him again. This is just something I have to deal with... every time he leaves. I wish I could go with Dave when he travels... but no, I'm just "the girlfriend." Nothing special there...

Maybe later I will? I mean, he's met my whole family... parents, cousins and aunts. He hasn't met my brother, but he will be coming out to visit this November... so Dave will finally meet him. I would like to meet his family. I have to meet his family sometime... right? But when? O_O

The wait continues...

Happy Belated Birthday

I spent this weekend in San Diego with my boy. A belated gift to us since our bdays were in August and only two days apart. So it was finally to take a little vacation to celebrate! On Saturday, our first stop in San Diego was the Gaslamp quarter... but we stopped to eat first before going to the Seaport Village. We ate at a place called, Cafe 21. After eating we walked all the way to the Seaport Village. I think it took us about 15-20 minutes to get there but it was a nice walk with pleasant weather. There were so many shops to explore! We went into many of the stores but there wasn't any items that stood out as amazing... just regular items... with boring written all over. Haha. It was still nice exploring what the store had. We did end up getting some Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream in which we enjoyed eating sitting on a cow bench =D

We walked back to the car, left and went out to the hotel where we would be staying the night. We relaxed for a bit before going out that night. David made reservations to eat at a The Oceanaire Seafood Restaurant in the Gaslamp Quarter. We left after it was 8:30pm. But before arriving at our location, we had to park a bit away and walk yet again to our destination.  It doesn't sound so bad, but this time I was all dressed up and wearing heels. David had no other choice but to follow my pace, which was slow. My dinner that night was to die for. I got a jerk tuna with plantains and mango... ahh so good =) I have never had anything that tasted so good. Dave told me to slow down and savor the food... I did for a little but, but then my meal was gone. It was pretty expensive but I would say worth it =P Dave had a crabcake which he said was the best he's ever had! So yay for that. After a nice night out, we headed back to the hotel to relax for the night.

On Sunday, we had a complimentary breakfast at the hotel. There was so much to choose from! I had eggs, fries, a bagel with cream cheese, hot chocolate and I got a yogurt and two apples to eat for later. After breakfast we got ready, checked out of the hotel and left for Balboa Park. When we got to Balboa Park we managed to park in a good spot. We walked to the information place and got a day pass to get into 5 museums for a low price. We managed to see 4 of them, the air and space museum, natural history museum, museum of Art and the Science Center. All were fun to see and explore. The last one we went into was the Natural History Museum in which Dave got both of us shot glasses. That was pretty much our day... but before we decided to leave San Diego, we needed food! We ended up eating at a Salvadorian place where we got pupusas that were really yummy. Of course we had to get some horchata and a strawberry shake to go with out meal. Yummies!

We left about 6:30 pm  and I ended up taking a small nap along the way. This weekend was really fun =) and I hope my boy and me have many more awesome weekends ahead of us.

Job Search

This thing called job searching... is hectic. It's probably been at least 6 months and not a single call back received. I know it's not me, but it's this economy and we are forced to live in it. It's frustrating because I need to find a job so I can start paying for my school loans. The amount I owe is crazy high and I have to start paying for them soon. My parents won't be happy to be paying for my loans, but what other choice do I have? It's just another thing I will have to deal with...

I know I will be making calls to the loan company in a few weeks to see if there is anything I can do. How can they expect me to pay $1000 dollars on my first time? That's outrageous. But I think I can probably have it lowered to about $650... which is still a lot. So much worries, that I rather forget about them. These loans will follow me forever... until I pay them off. There is no such thing as living a simple life. "So you call this your free country, tell me why it cost so much to live?" Just a quote from a 3 Doors Down song that I have always liked and it's obviously true.

So what else? Well there are other more private things... but those shall remain in the shadows... haha. But the job search continues...

Stay tuned!

My First Post!

Hey people. This is my first blog post. I don't know what I will dedicate this blog to... but I'll figure it out.
