Monday night... halloween

Oh yeah, there is something else I forgot to mention. David and I went to the Dia de Los Muertos festival last month. I think it was on Saturday the 12th. I'm guessing because it's not noted on my calendar. It took place in the Hollywood Forever cemetery. I have never been here so it was pretty cool to visit the place. But I kinda want to see the place without the billions of people who attended.

So my experience at this festival... I felt pretty sad walking amongst the dead. Seeing pictures and memorials. I wasn't sure if I could take it. I wanted to shed some tears just walking through. You don't really think about these things when you are living life. You are happy, having fun, living life day by day. Dia de los Muertos festival brings you down to the realities in life and what will happens to everyone when they die. But aside from that... we looked at a lot of merchandise. I had a pupusa, horchata and plantain. Dave just had some hotdog thing, haha. After this was done, we went to Sinister Pointe and Old Town Haunt that night.

OKAY, so now for the Halloween events! So on Halloween Dave and I went to do some yard haunts around the area. First we went to two places around in Burbank. Don't know where exactly they are or the name of the haunt, but the first one we went into was based on creepy alien virus of some sort on a space station. It was really cool to see what people can do with their time. The design of the haunt was cool, and they had an alien bar which looked awesome to hang out at. The second one we went to, was like creepy, butchery and not sure what the heck it was. But it was really awesome. It was awesome because of the decorations, and design of the whole place. They used the space well and the monsters... played their parts well. I would have to say this haunt is one of the best I have seen and it was just just the two of us and no other group in front or behind. It almost felt as if it was never going to end.

The next stop was Woodland hills, where Boney Island resides. I only remember this... because the whole theme of this place was boney, haha. It was pretty amazing what the owners of this place made. Skeletons everywhere, with audio, and a water show with music. There was also singing bushes and talking spiders with funny phrases. Oh yeah, we also saw the ghost busters car with all the flashing lights. It was pretty awesome. I tried to take a pic but it was hard to take a picture of the bright lights flashing. So instead I took a short video to capture the moment.

We went looking for another haunt somewhere... don't remember where, but it turned out it was just a small house decorations. David wasn't sure which houses were the ones with haunts in them. But we did end up at one with a forest of mirrors. This one was pretty awesome. There were mirrors all over the place making you think it was someone else, but then you realize right away it's not, and it's just YOU. Also, they ways the had positioned the mirrors made it looked like the people were behind us, but in fact they were coming in from the side of place. Towards the end there was a small girl who came out screaming... and apologized for it. I thought "You don't have to apologize."

We were hungry after all this... so we went to the Blue Dog Beer Tavern. For being Halloween, it was the perfect spot to chill. It was nice and empty and we could have a meal at peace. We had a burger with fries, and garlic cheesy bread. Let's not forget the beer of course! I got some wheat beer, which was yummy.

So that's it for Halloweeny things. Until next year! O_O
